Ironic Contradictions

I'm a long time reader - since way back when I was seven. That makes it over three quarters of my life that I will be a reader for. But it is worth it. When I'm not reading or wasting my time online on here or Goodreads I'll be off playing video games, studying teaching and messing around with friends and pop culture. Or reading some more.
The Eyre Affair - Jasper Fforde Hey look it's another review that needs filling in. I'll just put some words in here and see what happens. If it's not a smooth job just let your local council know and someone will come along to smooth it all out.

I don't know how one would explain this book to another fellow reader. It involves books: in particular Jane Eyre, The poems of Edgar Allan Poe and also the poetry of William Wordsworth. It also involves anachronistic creatures such as Dodos; time travel and the ability to travel in and out of books. It also features a memorable and nasty villain...and books...and bookworms. Have I mentioned that this book involves books and tons of book references?

Because basically to explain it this book features other books and another world where the impossible can and will happen for the sake of humorous deus ex machinas. Of course this is not quite The Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy but it's pretty good in my opinion. And the series does get better in the next few books revealing that Jasper Fforde is a real talent at writing.

So if you want a humorous book full of the fun, the zany and the improbable then read this. You'll find out all sorts of historical facts that didn't happen and some that did. It has footnotes too (have I mentioned how much I love footnotes?)!! Anyway go and read this like right now because I am your taskmaster overlord supreme ruler suggester of decent books.
