Ironic Contradictions

I'm a long time reader - since way back when I was seven. That makes it over three quarters of my life that I will be a reader for. But it is worth it. When I'm not reading or wasting my time online on here or Goodreads I'll be off playing video games, studying teaching and messing around with friends and pop culture. Or reading some more.

Passions Colliding For a Spot of Fun...

I've mentioned before that my second passion aside from books is film. I love watching films, reading related materials about films, debating the merits of films or actors, and in general owning films I love. So I thought I would post a fun little post about how I would set about creating a film if I ever had the chance to write a book that would be adapted into a film...

Choice of Director: In my mind Steven Spielberg makes some of, if not, the best film adaptations of books. With his understanding of how to make historical films, science fiction, adventure and everything else in between he would have to be the number one choice for many people. Of course he doesn't really direct much these days and so I would more likely turn to J.J Abrams first and then perhaps Ang Lee.

Choice of Special Effects Team: Weta Workshop are, in my mind, the best CGI team going around, having worked on The Lord of the Rings, Avatar, The Hobbit, Rise of the Planet of the Apes and King Kong for instance...

4 Preferred Actors: I would have to mention some of my favourite actors - Hugh Jackman, Liam Neeson, Daniel Day Lewis or Leonardo Di Caprio (I would also like to give an honourable mention to Stanley Tucci) who all play the kinds of roles I like in a character

4 Preferred Actresses: Again any of the following favoured actresses would feature - Emma Thompson, Jennifer Lawrence, Amy Adams or Meryl Streep. What I like about this mix is that none of these actresses really give in to stereotypes about actresses or characters and they generally possess a level of integrity in their roles.

Choices of Song Artists: Switchfoot, Red or Skillet and now maybe even Imagine Dragons as these rock/alternative bands are my favourites when it comes to their lyricism and so forth. Of course Lana Del Rey has done some absolute beautiful songs in recent times for movies. Perhaps a mix of different singers like with The Great Gatsby would work...

Choice of composer: Hans Zimmer or John Williams (arguably two of the best in the business at the moment)

We can all dream can't we...
